Planets is a four-year pan-European project funded by the European Commission under its Sixth Framework Programme (FP6). The project was set up in June 2006 to help address challenges with preserving digital information in Europe. The primary goal for Planets was to build practical services and tools to help ensure long-term access to digital cultural and scientific assets. The website makes available project documentations and deliverables as Planets progresses so that these can be shared with the libraries, archives and digital preservation community.
